Haven’t We Always Wondered What The five Best-Selling Cars In Pakistan Were? Well, Here They Are
It’s funny how we’re never content just by ourselves. Even if we had a million dollars tomorrow, it wouldn’t stop us from looking over the fence to see what our neighbours have. It’s not just an Indian thing either. It’s a human tendency to not just want more but to want to know who we’re hammering in the process too.
Don’t worry, as far as cars are worried, we’re here for you.

While car sales might not be the most interesting topic in the world, add the word Pakistan into the mix, and everyone’s going to be interested all of a unexpected. That’s just what we’ve done.

More than 230,000 cars were sold in Pakistan in 2016. While that’s hardly a number worth noticing, we’re sure many of you would want to know which cars had the largest chunk of this number. Here are the top five selling cars in Pakistan for 2016:
#Five Suzuki Wagon R
This car hasn’t been around in Pakistan for too long. It has still managed to just about make it into this list. 12,595 units were sold in 2016. An significant point worth noting here is that this figure is almost a 100% increase over 2015.
#Four Suzuki Bolan
The Pakistani version of the Omni van we all know and love. Many of us would have spent our childhood days jammed in the back of one of these vans with ten other kids on the way to school. Ah, those were the days. They sold around 15,000 of these cars in 2016. The numbers have been falling, tho’. Most likely because Suzuki hasn’t updated the car much in the last few years.
#Three Honda City & Civic
For some weird reason, separate figures aren’t available for the City and Civic in terms of sales. So we’re clubbing them into one.
DON’T MISS
Honda has sold 28,120 of them, but we have no idea how many of each. They haven’t been able to meet the request for either in Pakistan, tho’. So this number could be a lot higher in the future.
#Two Suzuki Mehran
As expected the Suzuki Mehran managed to sell fairly a few units in 2016, 28,036 to be precise. It’s the classic Maruti eight hundred design which proceeds even today. It was originally introduced in 1989. That’s twenty eight years ago. Guess there’s something about this car that helps it proceed selling. We have no idea what that is, tho’.
#1 Toyota Corolla
This car has been ruling the roost in Pakistan for a while now. 40,694 units were sold in 2016. There are various variants to choose from, and it’s also the most expensive car on this list. This just goes to demonstrate, people are willing to pay money for a quality product.
For those of you who are bored by now, here’s a cat driving through some sort of black fuckhole.
Some of the cars which missed out include the Suzuki Cultus, Toyota Hilux, and Suzuki Swift. Has this list left you shocked or disappointed in any way? Which cars did you think would make the list? Do let us know.
