The two thousand seventeen car-show season makes a slot shot this weekend to welcome spring. Here’s a look at some of the ways to spend your weekend.

Saturday will highlight several of the usual weekly gatherings but also an oil-recycling event, haul racing at Barona and the seven th annual Phi Theta Cappa car demonstrate at Southwestern College.

On Sunday, the 32nd annual True Line “Hot Rods Galore” demonstrate is holy ground for hundreds of rods, customs, classics and race cars. And the 24th annual Bob Baker Vintage Volkswagen Spring Festival will be an air-cooled VDub revival.

Lamborghini PoloStorico

Here’s a likely destination for a car enthusiast’s two-in-one summer vacation: the fresh Lamborghini PoloStorico facility. The studio is dedicated to the preservation of the brand’s classic models and heritage. And it is inwards the main entrance of Lamborghini’s factory and headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.

With space for clients and the PoloStorico team, the department restores and Lamborghini cars out of production for at least ten years — from the Lamborghini three hundred fifty GT to the Diablo. The studio also archives and records and there’s a warehouse that stocks more than sixty five percent of original spare parts — with access to other components on request.

“The preservation of Lamborghini classic cars and the rich heritage associated not only with the cars but our history of innovative and groundbreaking design, production and brand over more than fifty years is an essential department within our company as we head to the future,” said Stefano Domenicali, Automobili Lamborghini chairman and chief executive officer. He added that the investment into the PoloStorico facility “reflects the importance we link to our heritage and our classic-car clients.”

PoloStorico can manage the transport of classic cars that may spend inbetween six and twenty four months in Italy during a total restoration.

Crimson Cross thanks GM

General Motors was recognized on Monday March thirteen by the American Crimson Cross for the carmaker’s support of its Annual Disaster Providing Program. GM donated $1 million.

“While the best case screenplay is when disaster response services aren’t needed, no one is better tooled than Crimson Cross,” said Jackie Parker, GM’s director of global corporate providing.

Each year, the Crimson Cross responds to almost 64,000 disasters across the country and provides assistance as needed at no cost and regardless of income, said American Crimson Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern. Since 2004, GM has provided more than $9 million to the Crimson Cross’ disaster ease efforts.

Two BMW dealers honored

BMW of San Diego and BMW of Murrieta were among thirty three national winners for the annual Center of Excellence honors, awarded by BMW of North America. The dealers are measured against their peers on twelve key spectacle areas, including customer orientation, after sales and sales data. “The Center Of Excellence achievement is proof that these dealerships know how to delight their customers,” said Ludwig Willisch, Head of BMW Group Region Americas.
