A father of four was found shot to death inwards his car on Interstate four hundred ninety five in Prince George’s County Saturday night, police say.
Prince George’s County Police say one of their officers spotted a stopped car in a travel lane on northbound I-495 near Pennsylvania Avenue around 11:55 p.m.
The officer found 55-year-old Adriano Lombre, of Upper Marlboro, inwards with numerous gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, authorities say.
The victim’s daughter, 19-year-old Christina Lombre, said he hosted a card game at his home Saturday night and was on his way back from driving a friend home in D.C.
“He was just a lovable person and he wouldn’t do anything to no one,” said Christina, who has three older brothers.
Officers scoured the area and could be seen standing around Lombre’s one thousand nine hundred ninety nine white Mercury Grand Marquis with a large Washington Redskins logo on the back windshield with the words “Skin Fan For Life” written next to it. The car was also shot numerous times on the driver’s side, leading police to believe the shooter was also traveling north on I-495. Investigators found shell casings on the Beltway and are certain that is where the shooting took place.
Christina was in Fresh York City for a chicks weekend with her best friend when she got a call at Trio:00 a.m. telling her that her father was killed.
“I didn’t know what to say like my mind was blanking,” she said. “It’s just so sad because when I come home I’m expecting him to come outside and wash his car right now or do laundry.”
Police say no weapon was found in Lombre’s car and there is no evidence Lombre fired shots as well. At this time, police believe Lombre is an harmless victim.
“It’s very infrequent, this is not something that has happened in latest years,” said Capt. Anthony Schartner. “This is a very fresh case, but obviously we don’t believe that our victim was the aggressor in this incident.”
Police say they did not get any nine hundred eleven calls about a shooting, so they do not have a suspect or vehicle description. They are working aggressively on the case, and are asking witnesses driving on the Beltway Saturday night inbetween 11:30 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. to call police with information.
“At that time of the evening on the Beltway there had to be numerous people that had either witnesses the shooting or maybe witnessed our victim’s car,” Schartner said.
Witnesses are asked to call police at 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.
“If you know anything or there was a suspect like please call the police,” Christina said.
