UPDATE @ Two:44 p.m. (April 24):

Jason Bishop was arraigned by movie in Dayton Municipal Court on two counts of grand theft auto. No prayer was entered. The judge set $Ten,000 cash or surety for bond.

Bishop will be due back in court April 28.

UPDATE @ 12:28 p.m. (April 24):

The man accused of stealing a woman`s car before witnesses chased him and held him down until police arrived is now facing charges.

Jason Bishop, 39, is charged with two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle.

One of those counts stems from Friday`s incident, where he is accused of stealing Kelsey Puterbaugh`s vehicle while it was left running in a driveway on Pleasant Avenue in Dayton.

According to a court affidavit, Puterbaugh and several other people went out looking for the vehicle and located in approximately an hour and a half later.

Witnesses were able to detain Bishop until police arrived on South Gettysburg Avenue, where the vehicle was located.

Bishop also is accused of stealing a vehicle at another location on Stanley Avenue in Dayton, according to court records.

The 39-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Monday afternoon in Dayton Municipal Court.

UPDATE @ Four:21 p.m. (April 21):

Police have identified the man taken into custody during this morning`s incident as Jason Bishop, 39.

Bishop was taken to a local hospital following his arrest and was released and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a parole disturbance, police said.

We`re working to learn what charges may come from today`s incident.

News Center seven was on the scene as a man was seen running from a crashed vehicle and several other people were pursuing after him.

A woman standing near the crashed vehicle said the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the morning.

«It got stolen this morning before I went to work,» Kelsey Puterbaugh told News Center 7`s Adam Marshall. «This my only car,» she said.

Dayton police confirmed that they believe the vehicle involved in the crash had been stolen by the man police took into custody following the incident around nine a.m.

We`re working to learn if that man will be facing any charges.

Puterbaugh said they had been driving in the area searching for her car and recognized the vehicle and began following it before the crash happened on South Gettysburg Avenue near Lakeside Drive.

Our team was there as the man witnesses said was driving the crashed vehicle leaped into a nearby assets of water. The man then exited the water and walked down Gettysburg Avenue appearing to leave the scene of a crash.

Bystanders tackled the man and held him down until police arrived and detained him.

The man told News Center seven crews that the people that were pursuing him had been following him for no reason and that he didn`t steal the vehicle.
